smartie pants

I don't do smart. It's just not me, so when i had to dress for an interview today it was safe to say i was racking my brains trying to figure out what i could wear that could be remotely appropriate without making me look frumpy and unattractive. I finally decided on an enlarged dog-tooth print midi pencil skirt, that i picked up from a local charity shop for a couple of quid, i paired it with a high neck velvet cami top that i also found in a charity shop, a pair of tights and my Truffle platform black jelly shoes that i found on Asos.

I think with dressing smartly for formal events such as interviews, most of us girl fall into the standard boring, dull blouse and black pencil skirt with a blazer (most probably borrowed from your mum, last minute.) This post is just to prove that you don't have to fall into that category, by adding your own personal twist on a smart outfit, not only are you going to feel comfortable in your own style but you will stand out. Who are they going to remember more, the boring girl with the standard interview uniform, or you with your own stylish twist on things. Now i'm not saying go all out and wear the most flamboyant thing you can find, but by all means don't feel like you must succumb to the dull attire most people do. You don't even have to go out and spend loads of money, my whole outfit cost me around £20!
